Myofascial Release Therapy
The John F. Barnes’ Myofascial Release Approach® provides safe, gentle and consistently effective therapy for fascial restrictions resulting from muscular imbalances due to inflammatory responses, surgical procedures, deeply held tensions, physical/emotional (subconscious or otherwise) traumas and poor posture.
Fascia is uninterrupted connective tissue from head to toe. It is all encompassing covering muscle fibers, bones, nerves, blood vessels and cells. Many of its local manifestations of distortion have distal effects on the body. Myofascial Release treats the entire mind/body system whereby, eliminating the pressure of the restricted connective tissue system, "the straightjacket", that causes pain related symptoms.
Visualize fascia as netting for your bones and organs, suspending and holding all of your internal body structures in place. It is a highly complex biological dense fabric that holds us together. There are approximately 70 trillion cells within this fibrous 3D weblike maze. Fascia houses nerves, blood vessels and cells which help to keep your body functioning properly. When fascia is tight or strained, it can feel like 2000 pounds per square inch of pressure pulling or squeezing around any given body system, immediately causing pain, discomfort and dysfunction. Sustained gentle MFR pressure helps to relieve these tight, guarded and painful restrictions. You will feel your bodymind go from resisting to releasing.
MFR is able to help reduce or eliminate symptoms from:

Myoskeletal Alignment Technique Therapy
Myoskeletal Alignment Technique Therapy is a type of bodywork developed by Erik Dalton PhD. of the Freedom From Pain Institute. It is a modality that detects and corrects long and short muscle lever imbalances that lead to distortions in the body’s framework. It integrates spinal biomechanics with deep tissue work with a gentler approach. MAT emphasizes on prevention of dysfunctional compensatory patterns with a focus on restoration and realignment. It recognizes the strain patterns that create most common neck and back imbalances. It corrects the strain patterns before they become pain patterns within the skeletal and muscle physiology. First, we must bring the body back into balance and, once achieved, we can then come from a place of preventing recurrences.
Myofascial Stretching
Myofascial stretching distills the principles of Myofascial Release into a unique self-treatment technique. It results in permanent lengthening of the body's connective tissue and can dramatically improve health and quality of life. The techniques employ sustained pressure and elongation into restrictions in the fascia in a gentle way. Teaching retraining exercises and creating symmetry through proper alignment reinforces healthful changes. Let’s improve proper alignment so you can feel more freedom in your body.
Manual Lymphatic Drainage (Vodder Method)
MLD is a highly specialized bodywork technique designed to increase the movement of lymph and interstitial fluid. Gentle pumping pressure is applied and adapted to follow the anatomy and physiology of the lymphatic system. Please be advised that there are a variety of contraindications for this type of manual therapy, and therefore, requires your physician’s approval.
It can also be incorporated into any bodywork session to reduce sympathetic nervous system symptoms by inducing a soothing, analgesic, pain relieving response.
MLD can help with:
Acute and Chronic Stress
Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS)
Chronic Pain
Fibromyalgia
Headaches/Migraine/Sinus HA
Hematoma
Inflammation
Lymphedema
Oncology
Palliative/Hospice Care
Post Surgical and Post Traumatic Edema
Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA)
Scleroderma
Sprains
Tinnitus
Whiplash
Massage Therapy
Massage Therapy has a plethora of health benefits for body/mind/soul. These benefits can range from relaxation to pain and stress relief. It can help to:
Relieve Pain: Massage can help relieve pain by releasing endorphins, which are natural painkillers, and by reducing fluid build-up that causes inflammation and tension.
Improve circulation: Massage increases blood flow to muscles, which can help reduce pain and stiffness, and increase range of motion.
Increase better sleep: Massage can help you relax, relieve pain, and stimulate hormones that help with sleep.
Manage Stress: Massage can help you feel calm and relaxed by stimulating the release of serotonin and dopamine, which are neurotransmitters associated with positive feelings. It can lower cortisol which is beneficial for calming the central nervous system.
Improve flexibility: Massage can help loosen up tight muscles and increase range of motion.
Induce faster healing: Massage can help with faster healing from soft tissue injuries.
Reduce swelling: Massage can help reduce pregnancy pain and swelling.
Reduce cancer pain: Massage can help reduce cancer pain and stress on the body from chemo or radiation treatments.
Improve lymphatic and the immunity system: Massage can help boost the body's immune system and help increase lymphatic fluid flow
